 The Union Territory of Puducherry is unique in its geography, comprising four distinct and non-contiguous districts (zillas), often called "pockets," spread across three different states. This list of 100 tourist spots explores the rich French colonial heritage, spiritual centers, serene beaches, and unique cultural blends of each district as of October 2025.

Puducherry District

This is the largest and most visited district, famous for its French Quarter, spiritual ashrams, and beautiful coastline.

French Quarter (White Town) & Promenade Beach

  1. Promenade Beach (Rock Beach): A 1.5 km long rocky promenade along the Bay of Bengal, perfect for morning and evening walks (vehicle-free in the evenings).
