In
Vedic astrology, a "Drekkan" (also spelled as "Drekkana" or
"Drekkana") is a term referring to a specific divisional chart or
"Varga" chart used to analyze a person's life and destiny. The
Drekkan chart divides each sign of the zodiac into three equal parts of 10
degrees each, resulting in a total of 36 Drekkanas for the entire zodiac.
Each
Drekkan is ruled by a different planet, starting with the lord of the sign
itself, followed by the lords of the subsequent signs in zodiacal order. This
pattern repeats for every three signs.
The
Drekkan chart is particularly significant in analyzing a person's health,
nature, and characteristics. It provides additional insights into various
aspects of life, including relationships, career, and spirituality.
Astrologers
often analyze the Drekkan chart along with the birth chart (Rasi chart) and
other divisional charts to gain a more comprehensive understanding of an
individual's life path and potential. The specific placements of planets in
different Drekkanas can reveal strengths, weaknesses, and unique traits that
shape a person's personality and experiences.
