Identify the Lords of Trikona Houses

To identify the lords of the Trikona houses (1st, 5th, and 9th houses) from the Ascendant (Lagna) in a birth chart, you need to determine which planets rule these houses. Here's how you can do it:

1.      Ascendant (Lagna): Identify the zodiac sign that is rising on the eastern horizon at the time of birth. The ruler of this sign is the lord of the 1st house.

2.      Fifth House (Panchama Bhava): Count five signs from the sign of the Ascendant, including the sign of the Ascendant itself. The ruler of this sign is the lord of the 5th house.

3.      Ninth House (Navama Bhava): Similarly, count nine signs from the sign of the Ascendant, including the sign of the Ascendant itself. The ruler of this sign is the lord of the 9th house.

Once you've identified the rulers of the 1st, 5th, and 9th houses, those planets are considered the lords of the Trikona houses.

For example:

If Aries is the Ascendant, Mars is the lord of the 1st house.

If Aries is the Ascendant, Leo becomes the 5th house, and its ruler, the Sun, becomes the lord of the 5th house.

If Aries is the Ascendant, Sagittarius becomes the 9th house, and its ruler, Jupiter, becomes the lord of the 9th house.

These lords of the Trikona houses are essential in Ekadhipatya Shodhan for adjusting the Ashtakavarga scores.
