Prepare the Ashtakavarga Chart

To prepare an Ashtakavarga chart, you'll need to create a table or grid with the twelve signs of the zodiac (Aries to Pisces) listed horizontally and the seven planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn) listed vertically. Here's a step-by-step guide to preparing the Ashtakavarga chart:

1.      Draw the Table: Draw a table or grid with 12 rows and 7 columns.

2.      Label the Rows: Label the rows with the names of the twelve signs of the zodiac in their respective order: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

3.      Label the Columns: Label the columns with the names of the seven planets: Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn.

4.      Assign Bindu Values: Assign bindu values to each planet in each sign based on its position:

       Exalted: 8 bindus

       Own sign (swakshetra): 7 bindus

Friendly sign (mitra rashi): 6 bindus

Neutral sign (sama rashi): 5 bindus

Enemy sign (shatru rashi): 4 bindus

       Debilitated: 3 bindus

Vacant sign (no planets present): 0 bindus

5.      Fill in the Bindu Values: Fill in the bindu values for each planet in each sign based on its position in the birth chart.

6.      Calculate Total Bindus: Total the bindu values for each planet across all signs. This will give you the Ashtakavarga score for each planet.

7.      Interpretation: Interpret the Ashtakavarga scores to analyze the strength and influence of each planet in the birth chart. Higher scores indicate strength and positive influences, while lower scores suggest weakness or challenges.

By preparing the Ashtakavarga chart, you'll have a visual representation of the strength and weakness of planets in different signs, which can help you make predictions and offer guidance in Vedic astrology.
